“亚裔美国人”是首部讲述亚裔美国人的历史大型纪录片，该片采用勇敢而独特的视角审视历史。影片共分五集，每集一个小时：

2020年将把亚裔美国人奋发拼搏的身影载入史册：大选年，人口普查年，杨安泽竞选美国总统，疫情……不仅大批亚裔医护人员奋勇在一线救治病员，全美各地华人团体纷纷投入社区救助行动，他们把居家令变成了一场为医院警局等捐赠防疫物资的赛跑场。即使特朗普高呼“中国病毒”，即使美国各地对华人骚扰和攻击日益增加，同胞们依然负重前行。也许只有我们自己知道，在2020年全世界都在抵抗新冠灾害的同时，只有华人要抗击两种病毒，其中一种叫：种族歧视。
当然，我们还要承受中美关系的起伏对美国华人的影响。著名作家谢汉兰女士这样说：“中美关系一感冒，美国华人就得肺炎”。
在这个时候观看“亚裔美国人”，五个小时的历史回顾，会带给我们什么样的启迪？
抚摸前辈的足迹，我们不难发现：历史在重演。
然而这是2020年，半个世纪前的民权运动开启了美国少数族裔的新时代。科学技术在飞跃，社会在前进，亚裔美国人面前是新的政治格局。亚裔美国人已经觉醒：公民参与才是正道。
我们将从逆境中再次崛起，别无选择。而每一次崛起，我们都将登上一座更高的山峰。

As America becomes more diverse, and more divided while facing unimaginable challenges, how do we move forward together?
